Business Development Manager (BDM) – Government Sales
Experience Required: Minimum 10 Years
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive business growth within Government Departments, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and State/Central Government organizations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of government procurement processes, tender management, and relationship building with key government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end sales activities for Central Government, State Government, and PSU accounts.
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities within the government sector.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government officials, decision-makers, and key stakeholders through regular interactions and meetings.
- Manage the complete sales cycle, from lead generation and opportunity identification to proposal submission and deal closure.
- Lead and coordinate responses to government tenders, RFPs, bids, and empanelment opportunities.
- Work extensively on platforms such as GeM (Government e-Marketplace) and CPP (Central Public Procurement Portal).
- Understand government requirements and propose suitable solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
- Promote the company’s products, solutions, and services across government departments and public sector organizations.
- Track sales performance, market trends, upcoming projects, and procurement opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, technical, and delivery teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of opportunities, bids, and client interactions within CRM systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Government Sales, Business Development, or Institutional Sales.
- Strong knowledge of GeM, CPP Portal, tendering processes, bidding procedures, and government procurement frameworks.
- Experience working with Central Government, State Government Departments, PSUs, or Government Agencies.
- Strong understanding of the buying and approval processes within government organizations.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and drive sales closures effectively.
