Have it your way is a famous Burger King catchphrase. To stress personal preferences, the fast-food sector has modified the way they do business. This concept has been utilized by Vertiv in the Rack Power Distribution sector. While off-the-shelf standard choices are suitable in certain cases, they are ineffective in all circumstances. Why can’t a rack power distribution unit (rPDU) be ordered in the same manner as a burger without pickles or a burrito with only the ingredients you desire?
Vertiv has redefined the rPDU market by increasing its focus on individually designed rPDU solutions because they think rPDUs should and can be personalized at purchase. Customers can specify anything from the product colour to the precise dimensions and outlet quantity to achieve precisely what they want. You’re looking for a yellow rPDU with 42 C13 outlets and red U-Lock outlet bezels, right? Vertiv has your back; no issue.
Our devoted group of engineers and sales support teams work with you to create the precise rPDU you need at any time. Geist, a Vertiv trademark, has changed how rPDUs are built and manufactured to cut down on the time it takes to modify them, resulting in lead times of days or weeks rather than months. This makes it conceivable. You have the authority to build a rPDU for your particular application, whether you require a 5-foot wire or a specified number of outlets. There are two alternative modification choices available, depending on your requirements.
Configure-to-Order
More than 1,000 standard models from Vertiv Geist can be produced to order in as little as 3 working days. Each of these models comes with a 10-foot cord as standard, but you can customize it to any length you’d like, ensuring that your order satisfies regional specifications. For instance, in North America, the length of the rope can range from two to 15 feet while still meeting UL requirements.
You may get rPDUs in a variety of colors in addition to varying chord lengths. The default color is black, but all models may be modified in a choice of common colors if you want to distinguish between incoming power sources in your rack.
The colour of the outlet bezel is another customizable choice. You can change the bezels on Rack PDU models with U-Lock C13, U-Lock C19, or Combination C13/C19 outlets to match your desired colour scheme. The typical models use dark orange, light orange, dark green, light green, dark blue, and light blue to distinguish across circuits. These could be altered to distinguish between different power sources though.
Red and yellow bezels are provided for extra setup possibilities. For instance, you connect the primary power feed to all red bezels on a red rPDU and the secondary power feed to all yellow bezels on a yellow rPDU. Remember that altering the bezel colors does make it impossible to identify colored circuits.
The Configure-to-Order customization option applies to modifications that don’t impact the basic model’s fundamental design. The Engineer-to-Order option is the best way to acquire what you want if you need to change the placement of outlets, the power arrangement, the cable’s location, or the outlets’ types.
